Admission to NY Bar

Jason

Hello,

I'm a U.S. graduate student at Columbia University. I was thinking about obtaining an LLB at Oxford and, if I ever wanted to practice in the US, returning to a U.S. university to puruse an LLM degree. Does anyone know if it would be possible for me to gain admission to the New York bar without a JD, but with an LLB from Oxford and an LLM from an American University?

Thanks,
Jason

If you search the board for "bar" you will find some useful information. There is one long discussion about the NY bar requirements: http://www.llm-guide.com/board/120
which will probably answer your question (see second page in particular..).
