After the hard work of law-school application, now it is the time to get admission offer and scholarship for us. In this post, I hope all of us could share the information about admission offers and scholarships that we have received.

I believe this post will extremely help us in selecting law school. Firstly, most of us apply for at least a few of law school, so we need to make decision after getting offer. Through this post and our common effort, we could get immediate information about offers and scholarships, thus we could make right decisions. Secondly, while surfing in this board, I got a lot of information from these friends. But it is time-consuming to look for information about 2008-2009 admission offers and scholarship. Through this post we could get this kind of precious information quickly. Thirdly, most of the schools do not welcome us to email them to ask the status of application because of great quantity of application, this website and post is the best way for us to know our application status. Finally, not only could we get many benefits through share the information of offers and scholarships, but also we have nothing to lose. all of us uses net name here, so sharing the information does not hurt our privacy.

Come on, guys. Everyone makes a defference. All of us could make more success in selecting law school in 2008-2009 and in the future through showing our offers and scholarships and sharing this kind of information here.

Anybody got admission offer for Harvard Law School? I just got a email from them. It just said my application was complete. Maybe they would make decision later.

First off - good topic for discussion.
Second, when anyone posts to this topic, could you state if you are a foreign or domestic candidate? I'm not sure if it matters, but any extra info always helps.
Third, I think that after all of my applications have been accepted or rejected, I will post my general credentials and what schools I got into or got rejected from. I think this will help others who have the "What school schould I apply to" problem. I would think that it would be a great service if others did this too (to this post or another).

Georgetown - Update - rejected for their individualized study program - application was marked complete on 01/16 and was rejected on 02/04. It took about 5 days after my web status went to "decision" for the rejection letter to get to my house by first class mail.
NYU (will finish my application soon)
I will update my posts with acceptances or rejections soon. (Note, I have been bad about submitting my applications very late - almost near the cutoff for almost all of these schools)

Edit: Note: the admissions people at Georgetown are very friendly and willing to help. I haven't heard from them regarding admissions, but I recommend calling them with questions.

To Msch. : Your advices are great. I came from and get my law degree from China and now live in America. I am aslo glad to share all my offers and rejections with everyone. It is important for us to get immediate information about offers and scholarships if we want to make a right decision about selecting school. So it will be very nice and helpful that all of us post our offers here right after getting one. Maybe after all the admission stuff, we can post a summary about our offers or rejections, which will help others a lot as you said.

I have been accepted to GULC for the General Studies LLM course. I agree with you on how helpful the people at Georgetown are. What surprises me is the window (until April) given to all accepted students to confirm the offer- I am sure we will hear from all other Univs. by then. I hope I am correct on this. Its quite unbelievable to have an early review program and offer such an extended window to confirm acceptance.
Helen- What are your thoughts on GULC's General LLM course? Are you in touch with any alum/ present student of the college/course?

Hi, VA1993. Good for you. GWLC is a great school. I agree with your opinion. They do not ask me to confirm the offer in the mail and email. They just see they hope to see me in April in a new students gathering or such kind of stuff. I do not make any decision yet. I am still waiting the offers and scholarships from other schools. Anyway, there is no need to rush. Let's keep other other informed.

It seems that there is no new information about offer and scholarship recently. Maybe we have to wait until to Feb. or March. Most of schools make decision in that period. The waiting is really a kill. Anyway, be patient. Gook luck to all of us.

2) not mention scholarship.

Being tranfered to general pool, will get a response before March 1. Not a great news, cause some guys have gotten their admission offers.

I am from Taiwan and currently got the offer from BU(general studies). Besides they also offered me 20,000 USD scholarship.

My Background:
Congressman Aide :2 years
Law Clerk:1 year and 2 months
Community service:3 years

And I am still waiting for other admissions, such as NYU, Upenn(deferred to the general pool), UCB, UCLA, and Cornell. Good luck to all of us !!

My status, applied to Georgetown Un, Was rejected, reason given lack of experience needed.

Applied to Chicago kent College of law, was admitted for LLM in international and comparative studies ( 2008-2009), awarded tuition waiver of 7600$, Currently am requsting for more tuition waiver. ( why i applied to chicago kent, the university has slots for minority students and good for international law courses )

Applied to various funding organisations in the USA Funding international students for studies in USA, the P.E.O and AAUW. decisions on awards to be made in April and May. deadline passed for applications for those awards. but best options for funding for students from LDC.

Um try and get in touch with the Uni office responsible for scholarships. Inquire whether they have or can offer a reduction or scholarship. If they dont have any offers, just drop that admitn and look for a tuition friendly college as early as you can.

or try to see whether you can raise half and look at work study prospects from that college.

Tip, before applying, look at the costs and waiver available.

I got one admission from Georgetown Univerisity (general studies) in last December and am still awaiting admissions, if any, from the eight other law schools (HLS, Stanford, Columbia, NYU, Chicago, UPenn, Berkeley and Cornell) to which I have submitted application. Sometime this January, I've received e-mails from HLS, Berkeley and Cornell notifying me its receipt of all application docs and one e-mail from UPenn that my application was put in consideration in the general application pool.

I'm from China and have been working in international law firms in China for several years.
