Admission for an LLM beginning 2018 at NYU or Columbia

MJ1997-15

Hey,

Are there any folks who have been admitted for the LLMs at NYU or Columbia(Besides those who applied for early review?

The policy of rolling admissions has really gotten to my head. The waiting!

Hi MV20178,

Thanks a lot, this helps and puts a lot into perspective.

Though, I do not understand why they would mention "rolling admissions" (decisions being communicated as they are made) if all decisions are likely to be released around March, like all other Law schools. They might as well have told LLM applicants that decisions would be ready by March.

You'll see Columbia and NYU slowly start releasing decisions from this time on (at least according to the app tracker, anyway).

Be patient - I know, easier said than done. But you should hear from both of them around late feb, for sure.

On NYU's thread someone just informed of their admittance to NYU. I guess decisions are already being sent out! Good luck!

From last year's thread, it seems NYU releases decisions based on programs. If this is true, them Tradional LLM applicants should receive an answer soon.

I would've thought that smaller programs would receive their decision first, as the most popular LLM at NYU seems to be the Traditional. Though I just received news that a friend also received her admission and I'm not sure which program did she apply to.

I got my offer from NYU (Traditional) three days back, and my offer from Columbia today. I applied about the end of November. Good luck to everyone else waiting on NYU, Columbia or other schools!
