2011 USNews Rankings

For those interested, the new rankings will be published online on April 15.

As every year, there is a decent chance that they are leaked before that date.

Any alternatives?

As they are only going to issue a paper version of the rankings in May, I think that link is fake.

I always love how much stress people put on these rankings. My law school alma mater called me last night asking for a donation and midway through the call, the guy mentioned that it was one of the "top 23 law schools in the country." I hadn't really been following the ups and downs in US News over the past few years (beyond knowing that it was basically 25+/-3), but that immediately told me what the most recent ranking was.

Anyway, the rankings can be helpful to get a general idea for a school's quality, but be wary of putting too much heed into them. Just because one school is ranked slightly higher than another doesn't mean it is necessarily better, let alone better for your particular needs/interests. This is doubly true when you consider that the rankings are all for JD programs rather than LLM programs - if you ranked LLM programs, there would probably be a fair number of differences.
