2:2 Degree want to apply to a top tier law school

NNS

I have a 2:2 degree with 2 years of professional legal experience alongside teaching experience.
However, my low scores have prevented me from getting an admission in any top tier law schools in UK since they require a 1:1 or 2:1.
I need financial aid as well, considering this factor, my only options in the US are Yale, Stanford, NYU and Georgetown. Can anyone tell me how to improve my chances of getting an admission in these with my grades?
Are there any other LLM programmes with full financial support that I can apply to?

Not entirely sure why your need of financial aid would restrict your options to a T14 school... If your grades are low tier, chances are that you will not be admitted to any of these, unless you have a highly interesting profile for another reason. However, I am unable to comment on "2:2" because I am unfamiliar with this type of grades.

Your grades are a done deal and there's nothing you can do about that now. Professional success and work experience are helpful but Yale is mostly interested in your academic ability. Yale doesn't normally take students with below a 2:1 because their class is so small that they could fill it with entirely with students who have firsts. Georgetown or NYU might be a bit more flexible on that point, I would imagine. The best thing that you could do, in my opinion, would be to get an article published. If you can prove your scholarly ability through publications then they might discount your law school grades. Your academic references will also matter. For example, maybe a former prof can explain that your coursework was worthy of a 2:1 but you just botched the final? You will need to convince them that your 2:2 is an aberration and that you can really perform at 2:1/1 level all the time. Good luck!

Stanford almost never awards financial aid.
