Hey Aleena...well, i am from Lahore(Pakistan). Currently working in a law firm. Well you still stand a good chance of getting into KCL, SOAS, QMUL, Warwick, Edinburgh etc. UCL and LSE require a 2:1. I have an unconditional offer for 2010 entry from Warwick, SOAS, Manchster, Cardiff, QMUL and Edinburgh. But i prefer SOAS over all mentioned, because SOAS is a part of University of London, great institution, especially for students from Asian countries, located in central london and of really very good reputation worldwide. Well, the choise is yours. Since i dont know where you'r from, so do send in your results to KCL despite of 2:2, because you never know, you get in. Apart from KCL, you can also apply in SOAS, QMUL, Warwick, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and Bristol. It would be nice if you mention, in which area of Law you want to specialise. First step in choosing a university is to look out for modules it offers and the modules you'r interested in. So do write with some more info...like you want to do LLM(General) or LLM in a specific area of law. ok!
Take care.

apply everywhere and anywhere - you've nothing to lose! but hurry up, because most universities operate a rolling admissions system and most of the top colleges fill up their places by christmas!

I am presently studying at Kings and I do know of another student who was rejected twice by KCL because she didnt have a first class, however, last year she managed to get in coz she now has a 3yrs work-ex in london and also last year KCL had increased their number of seats by 50 to accomodate more students.

When you come here you will find that there are lots students who were rejected at KCL but got offers from UCL and vice-a-versa. Also, you would come across some students who gave up LSE coz they liked the modules taught at KCL or UCL.

So as far as I know leaving aside Oxford, Cambridge and LSE, the others like KCL and UCL have more or less similar admission criteria's and one definitely cannot be rated better than the other.

I visited the presentation cermony of Clifford Chance for LLM students this year and they told us that since last two years KCL students have dominated the training contracts recruitments. Out of the 15 training contract students recruited this year 10 were from KCL. If you dont believe me find it out for yourself.

Allen & Overy on the other hand has a pretty mixed crowd. There were people from all the colleges.

Especially, for International Finance Law, Commercial Law and Competition Law...Kings is really good. The professors are very well know and most of them have written books in their related subjects, which are often a part of the reading list of professors who are teaching in other colleges.

Its just a matter of luck where you finally get in but its my duty to let you guys know the some facts.

Besides, this is just the beginning after 2 months you all will be discussing which college to choose....:) coz most of you will have offers from various colleges.
