How are you guys? Well, I believe I will be attending KCL this year for my LLM. I presently live in NY and will not be able to visit London to make a decision as to which dormitory I should live in? I am looking for a clean, quiet and private living arrangement. I prefer a dorm room with an individual bathroom and shower in my own room. Does anyone know the best dormitory to apply for? I heard that Great Dover, Stamford, and Lillian Penson Hall were good picks. Has anyone visited or lived in either of the aformentioned places. Please get back. I really need to know. Thanks.

After accepting your offer (if you have indeed received one) links to university accommodation are provided. (if you've watched The Simpson's, this a "DUH" reply).

Thanks for the odd reply. However, I know that such links exist. My problem is that I do not know which one is the best out of the three I mentioned. Obviously, you do not know the answer so please save the sarcasm.

P.S. I already accepted the offer. I am just hoping that I get a better offer from another school.

hey
i have also considered applying to kcl. a friend of mine currently studying there has told me that great dover and stamford street offer the best accomodation- they offer modern, ensuite rooms at a short distance away from the Law Department. King's College Hall is catered, which some would regard as inflexible for the residents. Other halls have the disadvantage of being a bit further away from the Law Department. So my advice would be to choose either Stamford Street or Great Dover.
With regards to your other post on receiving a reply from UCL, I was coincidentally in the same position. I got an offer from KCL around 2 months ago, and had to wait about another month before UCL also sent me an offer. In my opinion, if you receive an offer from either one of these institutions, you are very likely to get an offer from the other as well. Therefore, I would not panick just yet- patience is probably all that is required. Personally, I am leaning towards UCL at the moment, but of course any choice is dependent on what you intend to study- UCL offers some modules that KCL does not offer, and vice versa. I hope that was helpful for you.

Malaysia

Thanks so much for your concise response. I just found out 1 hour ago that I have an offer from UCL as well. I actually called the school to ask about the delay. So, I guess we are in the same boat. I will probably accept the UCL offer because it is world renowned, especially here in the US. So, I guess I will not have to choose either of those dormitories after all. Good luck on your decision making.

I've just finished my LLB at King's, and in my opinion Stamford and GDS are the ones to pick for the reasons given by Malaysia. Malaysia also makes a good point about deciding between UCL and King's. They have strengths in different areas and you should probably decide on the basis of the subjects etc. you want to study and which School has a better reputation in which area. Best of luck in your decision making.

How to edit an original entry from USA: "I heard that Great Dover, Stamford, and Lillian Penson Hall were good picks. Has anyone visited or lived in either of the aformentioned places. Please get back. I really need to know. Thanks."

Hi
I'm from India and am going to be attending the LL.M programme at Kings the coming september and need to know the advantages of staying at a kings hall ( like stamford steet aprmnts. or great dover steet ) as against the intercollegiate ones.
I heard that the international hall is very good. Is that true ? and also isn't Lillian penson quite far from the Strand ?
What about Canterbury hall ?
