What are the college fees for Oxford BCL?

Hi guys,
Excuse my ignorance but cannot really find a definitive answer to this - does any know the approximate fee for doing this course? Not living, accomm fees or anything but the actual fee just for doing the course.

Many thanks, Michelle

For university fees, see http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/sr/PGTfees0809.pdf - 5000 pounds for Home/EU students and 11,205 pounds for overseas students. On top of that there is the college fee, which depends on the college. I called one college the other day and they said it would be about 4900 pounds for BCL students. Hope this helps.

So around 10,000 pounds in total?! Well, I doubt, if that's worth it...double the money than any other University in the UK (apart from Cambridge)! Btw: What does BCL mean?

That helps alot thanks. 10,000 seems kind of doable but I wonder how people get it together. Could anyone who is/was a student of it say how they funded it, did they pay for it form their own savings, are grants easily available? I presume their are grants etc but would just like to hear from people themselves. I'm from Ireland btw.

Well, I also asked myself how people manage to fund these incredibly expensive courses (and if that's really worth it). Especially the prices for courses in the US seem to me to be ridiculously expensive. Who is willing to pay 40,000 USD or more for a title???

i'm confused. my oxford college has sent me information regarding fees. it says college fees at £1885. but on the university website it does say bcl students often have to pay undergraduate college fees which are more like £5000. which college have you spoken to? will it be around £5000 for all colleges?

Hi Simon - are you a UK EU or international student? I'm an international student. Yet to receive documents from my college but I was also expecting the costs to be about 5000 pounds as that's what is says on all the information provided on the oxford website. Once I get my hard copy offer letter I'll know more I guess.
