hello people....
i believe and pray that every person on this forum gets their Visas. Just to make a mental checklist irrespective of the school we would be attending, of other vital things we would need to do before we arrive at our individudual schools
i know for a fact that students would need to provide TB test probably in form of an x-ray at immigration and also at the school. What next people?
VISA CHECK! WHAT NEXT:)

Dear Pucca,
i was made to understand this by friends who had earlier gone to the UK for their Masters. Was told that without this, they were asked to take the test more of a general test at the Immigration.
Also, some of the Handbooks sent to me from Manchester indicates this.
Guess to avoid any form of delay i'ld take the test at home.

I think its for the people coming from African countries. However, I am not 100% sure.

I am sure each college is sending their students wat are the necessary things to do before attending the college and on attending the college campus.
I am leaving for London on the 15th and I can assure you that nor me or my batch mates living in other countries have received any of these funny test requirements so I guess we all should stop panicking unnecessarily and please abort this post.!!!
I have only received a big email from the Intercollegiate Halls offices on the precautions and things to be done if one gets infected by HINI virus...Thats all!!!

yes i guess it depends on the university,,i was not requested this,,but my uni asked me to get the meningitis vaccine,,,,i also got hepatis A and B just because!
i also got my influenza vaccine specially because there has been many people infected by H1N1 here in my country and i dont want the uk immigration to give me any trouble when i get there,,,,
i also heard that you should carry in your hang luggage your unconditional offer from uni, your accommodation details and if possible your bank letter or statement (the one you showed at the uk embassy to obtain your visa)

Hello Pucca, have you sorted your accommodation? If not, check Unite Students halls, they are very good. You can book them online.
You are right about the hand luggage

Posted Sep 17, 2009 04:01
i was not

You should keep a copy of your bank statement, your visa verifications, your acceptance letter to Uni, and the address of your residence during your time in the UK. These papers are needed most of the time you will be entering the UK. The visa is only needed depending on the length of stay and activities you will be taking part in in the UK. I studied abroad for 3 months so I did not need a visa, but if I were to work during my stay, I would have needed a visa. Good Luck!
