Hi all,
I've been accepted into the Oxford BCL for 2016-17 but have not yet received a scholarship. While there is a chance of still receiving external funding, I would like to know your thoughts about whether the Oxford BCL is worth the cost (when paying your own way).
I don't really have aspirations for the Bar but am strongly considering a career in academia or in human rights/international law (currently, I'm working in commercial law). While I am attracted to the BCL because of its reputation and the unparalleled opportunities it offers to develop your legal thinking (and networks), part of me feels like there is better use for the tens of thousands of pounds that the degree would cost.
Any thoughts are much appreciated!
