Can anyone provide me with feedback concerning uni accomodation at the University of Edinburgh?

Which dorms are the most desirable to stay at and where can I get pictures of the different dorms?

Here you can find most of the info you need. The "desirable" word depends on wether u want ensuite accommodation and self-catering or non ensuite with all meals provided. or ensuite without meals provided or non ensuite without meals provided,,,u name it!!

Desirable, is yes a relative concept. We all want to live in a cozy environment, one that we (on a personal level) can describe as being "pretty". Hence, why I am searching for someone to direct me to pics of the different dorms particularly for post-grads.

Thank-you for the link. Unfortunately, there are no pics of what many of the dorms look like (ie Richmond place and others).

So, I ask to all those out there, does anyone know where I can access pics of what the different dorm at Edimburgh Uni look like?

P.s. Bye-the-way Pucca, I got an offer from Edinburgh! The long wait paid off-thanks for all replies till date! Wish you the best!

Hi.
I cannot get pictures for you but I can tell you that Churchill House is where I lived a few years ago and it was simple and clean and served its purpose. Great location and good value for money. Very near Old College. All rooms are private-ensuite and there is a shared kitched, which makes it quite lively.
Milne's Court is a fab place to live as the views are amazing. Most rooms are 2-3 bedroom suites with shared kitchen/sitting room and bathrooms. Rooms are very large, though. Not sure where you can get a more wonderful view of Princes Street Gardens unless you can afford Ramsay Gardens by the Castle!
Hope this helps.

Hi

I've lived in Edinburgh since 2003, so know this city really well. The dorms are very nice, but I personally I'd recommend finding a room in a private flat if you have the opportunity to do that. Maybe it's because I've spent too much time in student halls, but I can't stand walking into a kitchen and finding cigarette butts in the sink, dirty dishes on the floor and mouldy food in the fridge!! And I've even seen that in PG accommodation.

Saying that Edi halls are very nice. But they're more expensive than renting a room in a nice flat, remembering that you don't have to pay council tax if you're a student. I live on one the most expensive roads in Edinburgh in a Georgian flat with 12 foot windows and pay around £340 a month for a large bedroom. Compare that with £106 a week in Edinburgh accommodation.

On the other hand, if you want to meet people, and aren't from the area then I guess halls are great! If you need any more help, just let me know.
