I am going to do the LLM at UCL this Sep 2007-8.
I have received an offer (over the phone when I talked to them) but I still do not have any letter of confirmation or how I schould accept and enrol. Are you waiting as well ?
How goog is the LLM at UCL ? Is It Intense ?
Do employeers look at this ?
What are the DIS and ADV ?
UCL still waiting + UCL Grade it ?

Hi Hellows,
I too was accepted into the LLM programme at UCL commencing this Fall. Due to slower international mail times, official letters from UCL always arrive at my home three weeks after the postmark date. I too was informed of my official acceptance over the telephone and kindly asked the Office of Admissions to fax the official letter so I could promptly reply in turn.
I contacted UCL with this number and was able to check the status of my offer and request a prompt help: +44 (0) 20 7679 7742
I hope that helps.
Good Luck.
PS. from what I have heard UCL is a great academic institution.

Hello!
I also knew about my conditional offer by phone last monday.
I though that was not possible, but that is not important. What really matters is that i got in (i allready met both requirements but UCL is not aware of it, but it will be).
what courses will you choose?
my major problem right now is to get accommodation...
UCL has one of the best LL.M programmes in the world.
The last rank i saw, UCL got the 2nd spot (in Europe).

I have the same problem. I was told by phone a couple of weeks ago that UCL offered me a place in the LLM programme, but I have not received any letter until now. Considering, however, that I am a Brazilian student, I can not enter in the UK without a confirming document, reason why I believe I will have to choose another university. I am very sad about that...
Does anybody know whether the immigration board accepts documents sent by fax instead of originals? This could solve my problem...

Hi Danibra, I don't know if this is possible but maybe you could try speaking to someone at the immigration section of the UK embassy and explain your situation and give them a copy of the fax of your offer of acceptance. The Embassy can easily attempt to verify with the Univerity of the validity of your acceptance. It just a thought because it would be such a shame for you not to be able to go because of UCL's slow response despite your already valid acceptance.
Best of luck.
Best of luck.

Thank you for your advice, Lennox. I can try to reach someone at the immigration section of the UK embassy. I already have a student visa, buy I was informed by the embassy that it is subject to further analysis of the immigration office when entering the UK. Therefore, they will have all my documents verified again...
My second choise is Queen Mary, another college of the University of London. Does anybody know whether it is a good college?

danibra:
Queen Mary has a good reputation, but you shouldn't pass on UCL, even if it is difficult. Maybe you can get a provisional UK visa, based on the one you have already, until you can get your offer certificate from UCL. It also seems like UCL should bear the expense of having a certificate sent to you by express courier.
