Hi All!
I have a question that hopefully can be answered by the people that have already applied online. I submitted all my documents and also the last reference was uploaded last thursday. Still my status shows "awaiting documents"....is that normal?
I contacted the Admissions Office but they did not answer for 3 days now and I am getting a bit worried.
I hope you know if this procedure is normal??

well, mine does say so as well, even though my supporting documents were completed on nov 9. i assume everything is ok as long as the link to "documents you need to send to us" has disappeared.
cheers,
t.
btw., derdichter, are you german by any chance? i am considering applying to ll.m.-programmes over there as well - any suggestions?

@ trellick
you are right, i'm german. But I am really sorry, I have never informed myself about german LLM-programmes. For Germans it does not make a lot of sense to do an LLM in their home country as one of the biggest benefits you have is the experience abroad.
I know there are a lot of universities that now offer LLM programmes but I haven't heard anything interesting...

Hi guys, are you sure that December 2 is the deadline only for submitting the application without the documentation? Will referees be in the position to upload the letters later on, to the extent that the application has been sent in due time?
Hi everyone,
I will be submitting my application next week. I read the thread and it was mentioned that last date of submission of references is Oct 28. However, the application deadline is Dec 2. Could someone please throw some light on this discrepancy ?
Its a lil urgent. Many thanks.
M
Hi msn,
You are quite right that the application deadline is Dec 2nd, however please note that is the due date for you to submit the application without the supporting documents (e.g. transcripts, reference letters, etc.) Once the application is submitted, you will receive an email from Cambridge which provides a login ID for you to access the CamSIS online system, with which you can check what supporting documents are required, and by WHEN they are required (for me it is 28th Oct). Your due date for the submission of supporting documents shall be subject to the date when your application is submitted and therefore will be different from mine. My problem was, and still is, that I did not know there is a due date (within 2 weeks) for the submission of supporting documents until I handed in the application (and paid the application fee), now with one more week to go, I still have one referee not yet submitted his reference letter, this, according to some responses for this thread, might result the withdrawal of my application. Advice for you, prepare your referee well so that they are ready to submit their reference letters as soon as they receive the notification email from Cambridge (which will be sent out within 24 hours AFTER your submitted the application).

I think that your application will be considered on the basis of the documents that you sent or have been sent by your referees by 2 december. It may help if you call the admissions office and explain your situation... have you tried?
Does anyone remember from last year, when the first offers were made? Already in early January?

Hi Hejonas. Last year offers started being made mid January, and kept on being made until late March

Hi all!
Sorry to bother you again but I am getting really worried. I posted some days ago, that I submitted all my documents and references and that still my status shows "awaiting documents".
Trellick told me it was the same with him but now that the deadline is coming closer and still my status has not changed I wanted to ask for some more experiences of those who have already applied. Is it the same for all of you?
Admissions Office does not answer my emails...

i am applying as well (for the LL.M.), so hello there!
did anybody submit the online-application already? i am wondering why the appl.-form does accept slightly more characters for some of the motivation questions (A12-A15) without any problems. i am planning to shorten my answers anyway, but the form is really annoying, it also has more characters in each line than indicated - i am not supposed to switch to the next one myself after 130 chars., am i?
cheers, t.
Hi trellick,
I have just submitted my application last night, now waiting for the referees to do their work :)
As to your questions, the online system will prompt you if your responses are too long before you submit the application, despite you are allowed to save the work in progress with responses that are longer than expected. So you are right to keep the words within the limit.
What I did with my responses was this: I typed the passage in MS Word, just like a normal document, then copied the whole thing to the Notepad (the basic text editor comes with Windows) so that all the formatting except paragraphs was maintained, then I copied again the whole lot from the Notepad to the text filed provided by the online application form. It worked for me this way and I hope it works for you too.
Good luck.

Hey guys I am wondering if you know in the short answers in the application when it says e.g.: max 16 lines, is that 16 lines in a word processor word count or is that 16 lines in the box field within the application?
Thanks

It's 16 lines in the text field - and line breaks count as one character. Just try, it tells you if you've exceeded the maximum at the end of the process and then you'll be able to go back and adjust.

Hey everyone,
One quick question.
I understand that everyone is stuck with the dreaded «awaiting documents», and so am I.
However, here is my problem. I have uploaded my transcripts, as well as my two references. I am not applying for the Gates Scholarship, so no need for a personal reference in addition to the two ''regular'' references. Basically, my application is complete. But the system is still asking for a personal reference, which I did not provide since I am not applying for a Gates Scholarship.
In shot, ''personal reference» is the only thing left below ''Documents you need to send us'' in my Self-Service Account.
I am afraid that my application will not be considered since the system sees my application as incomplete at this point, even if it is not. However, I have reviewed my application in saved .PDF format and it says very clearly ''only if you are applying for Gates Scholarship''.
Any thoughts on that?
Thank you!

I believe that you should not worry. I had the same trouble concerning the TOEFL/IELTS test which I have not taken yet. My personal site states that Cam is still waiting for documents, but I talked to one of the people in admissions and she told me that everything was ok. As long as you have sent the material that is required, you can relax :)

Hi,
is it possible that the deadline for submission of my documents is 9 December as my application portal says? Or is 2 December the only deadline? I submitted my application just a few days ago.
Thanks for your help!

Hey,
The deadline is December 2nd. It takes priority over the December 9th deadline. I think the self-service account mentions it.

Thanks!
Do you know at what time the deadline passes? Is it tomorrow 23:59?
Guys, it's very important for me, I'd really appreciate your answer!

Not sure. You should call the Graduate Admissions Office. Do not send them an e-mail, they will reply one week later if they reply at all. Phone is quick and people are usually very kind.

Thanks, I'll call them tomorrow!

Hi everyone,
I have a quick question and I'd be extremely grateful to anyone who could answer it!
I submitted my application yesterday morning. I was then sent an email receipt for my application fee. I haven't received my self-service account details even though it has been over 30 hours. Is this normal? Has anybody had to wait longer than 30 hours to receive their self-service account?
Wishing everyone all the best with their applications,
Cambridge Hopeful.

Hey,
I am in the same boat. I have yet to receive anything other than my payment confirmation. Maybe the system is running slower than usual with the deadline looming?

Hi Flavio,
after submission of the application, you should be able to upload the documents by the deadline specified in the self service webpage. The same applies to your references.
