Colin88,
The Cambridge LLM Olympics Offer Tally is presently being led by Germany and followed closely behind by Canada and Australia.
May all of us in this forum (considering that there will be at least 500 offers) join their ranks soon.

at least 500 offers? you really merit your nickname. where do you have that figure from?

Hejonas,
Too optimistic of me indeed; hence my first name :)
Actually there are only 350-400 offers made for the LLM per year. As you can tell, my math suggests that i might not go into taxation law after all; nor a trip to the casino.

Numbers from the website:
1,000 applications
350-400 offers made
160-180 students take the LL.M. each academic year
40-50 countries represented
10-15 average size of small group class

I actually thought that the number of offers was lower. I am maybe not a doomed optimist, but after a week of pessimism this gave me a bit more hope again.

for what it's worth:
for the publicly available admissions information, the LL.M. falls within the category of 'other postgraduate courses', which includes visiting students, the MMath and LL.M. plus graduate diplomas, some postgraduate diplomas and the MSc, MLitt and MRes degrees.
for all theses programmes, 1.486 applications were received, 651 offers were made, resulting in 340 admissions (2009-10). LL.M. applications probably make for about 50 percent. the numbers seem to increase annually.

oh wow, that's comforting...
Anyhow I can't even check my status because it always says 'switch fail' whatever that means. I think its just because we are all checking CamSis constantly. Good luck to everyone, I'm sure we won't know for a while still...

I spent the past hour going again through last year's thread, and it appears that after offers been made on the week of the 22-25FEB, this is what happened
March 10: they sent offers on this day, after not sending any since that week of Feb.
April 5: rejections were posted in Camsis.
April 15: rejections and offers were made
May 4 and May 6: waitlisting and rejection
No offers were made between those dates.
I WISH i was wrong... but that's going by all the posts from last year. I personally feel very saddened, that it's highly probably I won't get in unless being sent an offer around March 10. Most, last year, were made on the week of 22-25 of Feb.

I know how you feel. Let's hope it is not the case. Where are you from? Have you applied other schools? Of course it will be a dream comes true if I am accepted by Cambridge but I will be happy enough to take up the offer from LSE and move on with my life...it is just this uncertainty that is killing me.

to those who received offers, what scholarships did you apply for? did you receive information about funding with your offers?
do you think that consideration of the application and consideration for scholarships is entangled in a way that the latter could dictate the processing of the former?

Unfortunately it does for some scholarships (i.e. Gates & Cambridge trusts)

how would it affect the application then, if you ticked some of these 'scholarship boxes'?

There is a PDF document circulating on student rooms suggesting that for some scholarships you have to recommended for an offer by the degree committee by Feb 9
