References - General or Specific(UK)

Hi,
so, i was planning to apply to a couple of uk universities which includes oxbridge, lse and several others. When i am requesting for reference letters from professors, should i demand for a separate specific letter which mentions the name of the University and the course I am interested in pursuing while applying to oxbridge and lse as they are important universities? If I take general recommendation letters, will that diminish my chances of my success.

P.S. I will be applying to a lot of scholarships and colleges. Hence, if I am asking so many references, they might get pissed off. That's why

Most universities send a link to the professor to upload the reference himself.
