Hi all,
I am wondering what is the pre-requiste for LLM of London schools. I am attending undergrad in US and will receive BS in Business Administration concentrating in accounting and business law. Do I need a JD to apply for LLM programs in London? I want to focus on international law.
Thanks,

Hi,
I did my law undergrad in the UK. Generally, to do an LLM if you have studied in the UK you will need a qualifying law degree. In the UK this will almost always be the LLB. However, a person can also be admitted without a law degree if s/he has done substantial legal experience relating to the area to which he is applying. I have suspicions that the same thing would be applied to international applicants. How is the situation in the US? I know that candidates need to study something at an undergrad level then do the JD then the bar, but if you have done the undergrad can you do a US LLM or do you need a JD for that? For more info, you can visit King's College London LLM website and see the guidance for international students where they explain the entry requirements for all countries.

Yes and No.
Yes. Because you need an aptitude in common law proceedings.
No. Depends on how many undergraduate law courses you took during your degree.
