This is an old issue "job after LLM"...in UK...........i'm gonna open a topic about that....
I can tell you what i know about that...
1) The question that you should answer is if you want to get a job in UK or you want to move back to your place... in the second case you shiould know by yourself if an LLM is usefull or not....
2) In USA it is harder to find a job after an LLM for a lot of reason: first of all the "visa"....; second: the big law firm prefer foreign students with the J.D., a three years course at least; so people say that the LLM is usefull only for those students that are supported from a law office of their country that pays all the expenses.
I don't know in UK... What can I think is that for E.U. students could be easier as we don't need a visa...(but i dont' know the relation between UK and India...);
London is the european financial district...there are a lot of corporations, investitors, banks, insurance companies, law firms...and it could be easier to get a job than in USA as the system is not so competitive...(i head wird thing about job in USA).
3) your job background: are you already lawyer? Have you already job experience? Have you a practise area??? Much depends on this....
What is sure in life is that "nothing is sure"... so it depends on your expectations after LLM...
If i can give you a tip is to send your cv while studying in UK, so that when you will have finished your course hopefully you will have saved time and money if you have already get a job...
Good luck!!!

it took one week for me but I had had some little problems before with the residence office...Generally, between 1 and 2 weeks. But if you think they may have forgotten you, don't hesitate to them a call, they're cool over there!
Later!

Hello All!
Looks as if I will be joining everyone this semester as well. Just so everyone knows my stats: I'm a 28 yr old American(Texas) male... I like long walks on the beach (just kidding). I am still waiting to hear back about housing. I have signed up for the orientation at the Lodge as well.
I have actually attended classes through an exchange program at QM before. The experience was amazing and everyone has good reason to be excited. I'd be happy to share my experiences. I look forward to meeting everyone in the coming months.

It takes place September 27th 29th September 2006. According to the e-mail it is an opportunity for "staff and students to mix in convivial surroundings. Many members of the academic staff from the School of Law will be on hand to meet you and discuss their various courses and areas of interest. Various elements of the LLM programme will be explained to you in some detail and the course/essay
selection process also explained. There may also be a session for civil lawyers coming into the common law system."

Dear all
I am heading to QM LLM this Sept. I am 28 years old from Hong Kong. I am so excited to meet all of you. However I have a big problem now coz the residence office cannot confirm accomodation for me and I am still on waiting list. I apply for it in mid July and haven't heard from the office until I chased them last week. Really worried...I don't have any friends and relatives in the UK....

Venusian, I got the email for booking a place on the Welcome Programme but that's totally different from the Cumberland Lodge thingy. Anyway, I don't think I'm going coz I'll be arriving on the 18th anyway. What about you?
