Hey guys,
I am a third year llb student in Leeds. Last year I got an average of 58 where I had a middle 2:1 for every modules I enrolled except for criminal law (which I fucked it up so hard got a 47).
Somehow miracle happens in my final year. My first semester result has just been released where I got an average of 72 on the three modules examined [2 of them consists of 50% of the module's score (Jurisprudence and IP) while 1 of them is the full mark of the module (Conflicts of Law)]
Hope reignites and now I am thinking about applying for a LLM. I wonder what tier of university should I approach.
In my mind right now- (KCL, Edinburgh, Durham, QMUL)
Or should I even consider LSE/UCL?
Advice plz :) Thanks!
Miracle happens to my final year grade

first year of law school is not counted. so what is important is to get a first in the second and third year. if you can get a first overall (2nd + 3rd year), you will be within the reaches of Harvard, Cambridge or Oxford.

Hey! Are you at uni of Leeds? If so, I think we are in the same class haha, I got overall 58 in first year then 63 second year, but did a year abroad and got average 7.7/10, and this year in Leeds my average is also around 72. I got conditional offers from KCL and LSE, but was rejected by UCL. I think my year abroad grades really helped though, obviously my current final year grades werent on my transcripts, but maybe you could mention yours in the application.
It seems like KCL is slightly easier to get into and they take a lot of students and reply really fast- I got an offer after 6 days (whereas UCL and LSE take around 2 months, which may make you almost too late to apply now, if spaces have filled up- although arguably no harm in trying!) Queen Mary UOL is similar to Kings in responding relatively fast and having lots of spots, and they accept even lower grades including in some cases an overall 2.2.
Hope this helps! :)
