hi there!
i have recently been accepted to study the masters in human rights with law at qub...I have not come form a law background and am starting to panic slightly about what I am taking on. Can anyone out there tell me any information about it...did you enjoy it? did it help you with future employment and oh can anyone offer any advice on how useful this degree is in pointing me towards a career in law?? thanks!!

I can't help you with almost all your questions, but regarding the last one on your post I'd say the degree is useless. Im not 100% familiarised with the requirements to become a barrister or solicitor (dont' even know if that's the correct name there) in Nothern Ireland, but if youre thinking about becoming one, the LLM (regardless of the university) wont help you at all. At least not in the UK, as far as I know. Its helpful if you get an LLM in New York (I think there are other places in the US that accept the LLM as a professional qualifying law degree)... then you can take the bar exam there. An LLM from Belfast might be a good idea if you want to do anything else related to Human Rights but acting as a solicitor or barrister...

Glad I could help! I really think you should think this through... putting yourself in debt is a very bad idea, especially nowadays...
