LLM in London - Urgent Advice

Dear all,

I am an attorney from Colombia. I have received offers of a place in UCL, KCL and QMUL. I am planning to take subjects on intelectual property, international commerce and tecnology law.

Could you please help me deciding which University to choose? I would really appreciate your help, because, to be honest, I am lost.

Thank you in advance!!

I was accepted at UCL and QM for IP. It was a very tough decision; both programmes have their strengths. QM has a greater volume of courses offered in IP; I believe the reputation of the faculty is a bit stronger at UCL (and at KCL, for that matter). I chose UCL, based on intuition as much as anything quantifiable. Sorry if it isn't particularly helpful to say, but I don't believe there is a clear right or wrong choice. Go with your gut and don't look back.

Probably pretty good advice. I didn't do IP, but this seems to fit with my general sense of the relative reputations of the programs.

Thank you both for your kind and useful advice. Why do you think Queen Mary has a lower reputation than the others (UCL,KCL)?

Because it's not as good?

UCL and KCL are among the most prestigious institutions in the UK. They are well-known and well-established colleges in University of London.

QMUL has only recently gained attention and many people see it, perhaps unfairly, as an "insurance choice" for those who were rejected by UCL and KCL. UCL in particular is a very strong institution with a huge global reputation.

Panthros got that right! Couldnt find a better way to translate it into words!

If youve seen my post on my fiancées dilemma, youll completely understand what Panthro means by saying QM (unfairly or not) is seen as an insurance option.
