LLM in London: QMUL / KCL / UCL / City / ?

Hi all, need some advice. What's considered the best LLM in London?

QMUL / KCL/ UCL / City / LSE ?

I am not from the UK so I don't know much about the reputations of each school. Any help on this choice would be appreciated. I would like to study banking law during my LLM.

Most people would agree that the general ranking in terms of reputation is

LSE>UCL>KCL>>QMUL>>>City

That being said it really comes down to your personal field of interest. QMUL for example has an excellent reputation for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution although it is generally considered to be less prestigious than LSE, UCL and Kings. I can't really comment on the quality of the banking law programs though.

If we only speak about the reputation, I would say
LSE > KCL > UCL > QMUL > City.

The Guardian has the same ranking but UCL worths QMUL: https://www.theguardian.com/education/ng-interactive/2016/may/23/university-guide-2017-league-table-for-law

FYI, KCL is very famous in France, more than LSE or UCL, thanks to several dual degrees with Assas, Sorbonne or ESSEC Business School.

But in contrast to all the others, UCL is constantly ranked among the Top 15 worldwide in international rankings. And the Guardian League table is contradicted by the others: http://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables/rankings?s=law

Generally speaking, I wouldn't rely too much on the national league tables as they are not very consistent. I agree that KCL is better known in some continental European countries. In the UK, however, Kings reputation is way below that of LSE and UCL.

In the end the difference is marginal and if you are facing a choice between those three your decision should be based on the respective faculty members and classes offered in your field of specialisation.
