Hi folks,
I've been accepted into the HR Law LL.M at a few colleges, all of which have great programmes.
So far, I'm leaning towards Essex, but I haven't accepted the offer yet. I hope to work in the field of either human rights advocacy or legal academics and would really appreciate it if those of you who've applied for the same course could offer some advice. Those of you that have already attended this programme, your input would be invaluable.
Any advice from my family, friends and colleagues isn't of much help at the moment because they belong to separate fields. I'm really having a difficult time making a decision.
Also, could anyone shed some light on career prospects after graduating from Essex?
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
I'm currently doing the LLM in Essex. I've enjoyed it so far and the modules that I did were great. Your question would be easier to answer if you pointed out where the other offers came from or a particular field that you may be interested in.
I'd be more than glad to help, and you can PM me if you want to!

There is a Facebook group for postgraduate students starting a human rights degree in Essex next year here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/595414813864492/. The group has advice about living in Colchester as well as job prospects with a degree from Essex. Hope this helps!

Thanks, people!
Well, the facebook group has prospective students, so it didn't exactly help me in making a decision. But it's really a great forum to meet my future batch mates, so thanks!
I've gotten offers from other places, but I'm torn up between Essex and Kent (it just seems to have a really interesting programme). So far, my internships and publications have all centred around cyber law, child rights or medical ethics, but I don't want to restrict myself to these branches of HR.
What would you suggest I do?

Judging solely on the reputation, I would say go with Essex..

Essex is a great choice for IHR studies.
