2) Is the course really venurable with the employers in Uk and overseas?
3) Does the drop out rate of this course is quite high?
4) At the end of my course, doi have to sit for a theory exam?
5) Does the placement cell of the univ. provide assistance to get a job after Completion of course?

There are better Universities for the course you are targeting. Pourtsmouth while a relatively new University does not carry the weight of the majority of the well known Universities in the UK. If corporate is what you are looking for try Manchester, Nottingham, Leeds, Bristol and the likes.
If you want to invest make sure you make the right investment.

Hats off to your honest answer. Well i'm focused towards more professional oriented program with LLM. Reason for choosing this course is because it provides dual degree. Along With LLM i'll gain graduateship in company secretary. Isnt this a good advantage? This what keeping me in delima to seek admission in Portsmouth. I'll be humble if you clear my doubts.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If you want to work as a company secretary then by all means? But do you need a degree as a company secretary? Surely not.
It is a good advantage if you think it's what you want and you are happy with the degree. But as an investment I very much doubt it

Hi, Ananth,
I may not be able to give you any guidance on the points raised in the 1st post. However, I would like to shed some caution so that you could get clarified by the univ people before you apply/join the program.
First let me tell you the combination you opted LLM Corporate GOvernce/Grad ICSA is wonderful combination. I have no idea on the reputation of Portsmouth univ but the any degree combined with Grad ICSA would have high value in job market. I understand no other univ in UK is offering this combination and that my be the reason you would opted for this univ irrespective of its reputation. Univ of Birminghom is offering similar comibation but not with LLM but with MBA. So, if you are not having law background, you can see that program also.
Having said that, I would like to caution you that Grad ICSA being a professional course you have to make it sure that by finishing this LLM you will also be awarded with Grad ICSA. If Univ awards only LLM on the completion and ICSA UK will award GradICSA whenever you complete all modules irrespective of your completion of LLM means again its useless. Please check this aspect with univ before proceeding further. As some universities may offer this type of courses only to attract the students, but in reality they only have some affiliation with ICSA by which it may mean that all their students who enroll into their LLM wil also be students of ICSA but they dont ensure that by finishing their LLM, ICSA will also award GradICSA. In order to get GradICSA students need to complete all modules prescribed by the ICSA in their website.
Hope I am clear to you.
Good Luck.

i'm highly obliged for your guidance. i'ave gone through the websites of portsmouth university and ICSA. On the website of portsmouth they have mentioned "Graduates of this programme will qualify as Chartered Secretaries and be entitled to use LLM and Grad.ICSA after their name."
How should I take it? I mean even on the website of ICSA they have mentioned that the university providing this proggrame will entitle into award of GRADUATESHIP ICSA.
Kindly help me on it. Thanking you.

Hi,
Just call both Univ of Portsmouth and ICSA office as well and check whether whatever you read in their websites is right. Ask Univ people clearly that just by completing this LLM you will be awarded 'LLM / GradICSA or for GradeICSA you need to take seperate exams and get clarified. If they confirm that by completing this LLM, you will be given both degrees, then its ok otherwise you need to think twice before joining the course. Also do the same check with ICSA office also. These is no program in double checking about the veracity of the program before joining.
GoodLuck.
