Hey everyone!
I have place on the LLM at Bristol starting October 2011, but I have recieved advice from some of my academics suggesting I should defer my place at Bristol and apply for both Oxford and Cambridge for 2012-2013. I have been told that I would have a really good chance of getting into both. I went to a decent Uni to do the LLB and recently graduated with a first and won the prize for coming top in my year. If I defer Bristol I would focus on building my CV throughout the year. Would it be worth me waiting a year for Oxbridge and would the Oxbridge tag enhance my chances of becoming a commercial barrister?
Or would Bristol be sufficient enough?
I live in Bristol so it would be cheaper to stay here for the LLM but that is not the deciding factor, I am willing to pay the extra for Oxbridge if it helps my career prospects.
I am finding it really tough to decide so any help would really appreciated.
