Hey Guys! Could you advice: KCL vs QMU in Finance law? I guess that KCL has obviously better recognition. But do you have any personal experience with teaching staff from KCL and QMU as regards finance law ? Thanks

Got same problem but for KCL and UCL both programs are Banking and Finance LLM. KCL syllabus looks much more attractive than others. Btw I discussed the reputation of QMUL with one professor, he told me that QMUL has also very strong reputation in Finance.

I have conditional offer to KCL and unconditional offer to QMU and I can not wait any longer with my choice. If I had unconditional offer from the both schools I would go to KCL. I am just considering what to choose as QMU is for sure but KCL is better ranked. I was quite surprised that there is very good staff at QMU as well as syllabus for Banking and Finance LLM also it is better than other schools offer. But I do not know much about reputation of QMU and I do not know anyone with personal experience with this school.
As to KCL vs UCL in relation to Banking and Finance LLM I guess that UCL may have slightly better reputation but the difference is in my opinion really marginal. I was little disappointed with UCL syllabus for Banking and Finance LLM and I think that that one from KCL is much better and more attractive. I would probably go to KCL in your place.

QM has pretty impressive reputation within the UK. They've got pretty high student employment ratio (don't remember exact figure). Furthermore, Ive heard that their Finance program is more related to domestic legal issues than to international law.
As for their international reputation it is obscure to me.
Thanks for your thought on UCL-KCL choice. Ypu're right, UCL syllabus is not really as impressive as KCL's is. In adittion, it is still questionable whether some of the subjects will be teached.
BTW, what is the condition of your KCL offer language? If so are you going to take an examination? If yes, I would suggest you to accept the offer from QMUL and wait for unconditional offer from KCL. If positive, you can always withdraw your application from QMUL (if you haven;t paid anything as tution fee of course)

Thanks for your information about QMU Truchik! I have none just some rankings.
Go to KCL! I went trough this forum and it was highly recommend by some who had done LLM there. The syllabus is really great and together with UCL and LSE it first tier university. There is no difference in my opinion as to reputation. Everyone has his own preference which of them is the best school. And in situation when KCL has by far the best syllabus it is easy to make decision!
You are right with my condition. It is language. The thing is that I will not be able to pass any exam as I should be on business trip for two month from now. And because of my job I have to decide what to do right now. So I either go to QMU or wait for next year and apply to LSE, KCL and UCL with fulfilled language requirements. What schools did you apply to?

I'm going for an IELTS this Saturday. I've got both conditional offers from UCL and KCL, my decision will depend on my IELTS scores. If they fits to KCL criteria, I would go there for sure.
If I were you, I would definetly go to QMU without waiting for another year. I've waited for 2 years working at prestigious organization at the same time, but now I definetly know, that education shall be done asap.
Best of luck

Thanks for nice advice Turchik, You are right. I have been working for 4 years since I finished my studies. Firstly I worked for British international law firm and now I have been working for an international bank. So maybe I make decision to go right away. The longer I hesitate to go the less probable going for LLM seems to be. Cross fingers with your IELTS! Let me know if you will go to KCL!!! Best luck and take care!
