I believe you would have to do an extra English Language class (+ test) at KCL before the year starts, which will probably cost a lot of money.

[Accomodation at LSE] Guys, what do you think: Lilian Knowles, Sidney Webb or Butler's Wharf?

Wow... I accepted a room there... I feel kind of depressed for next year now....

There appear to be several complaints:

1. Construction site
2. Distance to campus
3. Hidden costs (laundry)
4. Location and appearance isn't as advertised.
5. Contract is with Sanctuary Students not LSE

The major issue seems to be the construction works. You can request a room which does not face the construction site. You can't do anything about 2 - 5 above.

The author of that article is disappointed because he had different expectations. I suppose you will now arrive well aware of these issues, so you won't be disappointed.

Hello!

I just submitted my application for the LLM International Financial Law programme 2016 to 2017 and I have some queries which I hope could be answered here:

1. I am a Tier 2 Dependent Visa holder with no restriction to work and study in the UK. I arrived here last summer but I have no idea whether I'm classified as a UK applicant or an International applicant. I'm asking this because of difference of rate/fees for enrollment.

2. In lieu of Certificate of Language Proficiency, I submitted a Certificate of English as Medium of Instruction issued by a University in Philippines where I finished my law degree. Will this suffice?

3. I ticked the part where I'm requesting to be considered for scholarship at the "Funding" page and fielded in the Yeoh Tiong Lay LLM Law Scholarship 2016. Is this correct?

4. When do we know the result of the application process? How stringent is the selection process? I really want to study at KCL.

Thank you and Good Luck to us all!

Hello,

Most of the people on this board have recieved their admission offer within the 10 days following the day they applied. I recieved a conditional offer 6 days after submitting my application. However, KCL indicates that they make a decission in 4-8 weeks.

Regarding your other questions, I am sorry I have no idea about the answers, so I hope other users help you.

Good luck on the application and on the scholarship as well.

As did I. However, I am still optimistic. We'll make the best out of the experience and the location of LK is still very good! I look forward to meeting you in September!

Best regards

Just for the general knowledge of others, I applied really late in end Feb / March and I an unconditional offer from QMUL, got rejected for KCL, got placed on the reserve list for LSE, and still waiting for a decision for UCL.

Hey Congrats on your offer from QMUL. I'm in the exact same position as you! Applied around the same timeframe.
Have you tried to contact UCL yet? I was thinking of doing that however I am not too sure if they would give out any information. My application has been at the same stage for so long now

For UCL, it is only when I called the office of Postgrad Taught Admissions that I received an answer. It had also been more than 8 weeks at that time. The lady there is very nice, feel free to call!

Good luck

Congrats all on your admissions!

To those moving to London, I will be selling a bunch of furniture at a cheap price in August.

PM me if interested, I'm also a former student at UCL so the pick up would be very close to the campus (also near LSE) :)
