KCL or Durham

I understand that this is forum for LLM. But I have been given offers by both KCL and Durham for their LLB, I wonder which one will be better.

KCL is much better.....! It has a super advantage of its location and internships chances during LLB program. Also you can opt for BVC of LPC after LLB in KCL itself.

Thanks for your info
Would it be difficult for a non-EU student to get an internship??

Also I suppose graduates from Durham can also choose BVC or LPC, why KCL graduates could be more advantageous in this?

may be....but when it comes to BVC or LPC....KCL has much better reputation than durham...!

And yes...when you are going for an LLB programme its not an issue to find internships as a non-EU.....but please check you VISA conditions...how many hours does it allow you to work..!

Legal_India, when it comes to the BVC or LPC, KCL does not have a better reputation than Durham. Both KCL and Durham graduates will have absolutely no problems going on to study the BVC or LPC (nor do any graduates for have attained a 2.2 or above in a law degree from any university).

Both law schools belong to excellent Russell Group universities! I would personally say KCL is better, and will give you more opportunities, but Durham is also very good. Given that you're doing the LLB, it may be wise to visit both universities as they offer VERY different experiences in terms of location, atmosphere etc.

I would vote for KCL. Better world wide reputation.

Thanks for you guys comments....I admit that KCL has a better worldwide competition. Even in Hong Kong (where I am from), KCL is well-known here (though people will rank LSE & UCL better).....and not many people even know the existence of Durham!!!

But I want further to know is Durham considered famous in England??is it considered better than KCL in terms of LLB???

As regards LLB, I think you should have a look at the Guardian and Times ranking. People keep saying that these rankings don't apply to LLM, but they sure can be used to LLB. If I am not mistaken, KCL is better ranked than Durham.

Hi Beicon, thanks for your advice......
I did check those ranking tables....my impression is that they are seldom be reliable....some uni can be the top 10 in one yr and vanish next yr.......that's why I always trust the opinions of students, practitioners and made a post here....anyway thanks for your help
