Arun...chin up...Struggle and strive
Even I have a very humble family background and I have taken this plunge knowingly.NLS LLM is nothing great,so no point in lamenting.
I believe, when you happen to be in the football ground kick around the ball as much as possible.
All of us have undertaken the same arduous journey.Confront and cherish this bitter sweet experience.

guys it is not that i dont have it in me to survive it was just a caution for all those small town lads in india taking the plunge and ending up in big trouble

Arun
To the "small town lads" stuff you mentioned I must say that those small town lads after doing their 3 or 5 years of LLB and getting through reputed institutions must have done some homework and spadework as far pursuing LLM in UK is concerned. No one in India coming from a humble family background(be it a small town or a metropolis like Calcutta or Bombay) takes a hasty decision as far as pursuing LLM is concerned because it involves serious Indian money.
I appreciate your concerns and the warnings but let not this be a detterent for all the hard-working and risk-taking individuals who want to pursue their LLM from UK.Let them have all the possible information and then take their individual decisions.

sayak i was just tring to say that there are a lot of mis inforamations going around in india about the goodies of an english L.L.m we should make them aware of the reallity rather than always stead fasting on to the decision that we took now we are both studiying in descent unversities in u.k
tell me how clear are you about the future now with regards to studiying at n.l.s or j.n.u one is very defenite about the furture as they have 100 percent campus placement

Hmm...it seems that you are justfiably agitated, even though in my opinion you can articulate your thoughts, emotions and outpourings in a better way.

Hey arun, dont beat urself up about the fact that u chose a UK LLM over one at NLS at least. The NLS LLM course is nothing great, and while there is 100% recruitment at the LLB level, its quite a different story for LLMs. If u r planning to come back to India, then the value attached to a foreign degree is much more than the NLS LLM brand value....That said I agree that, one should factor in the costs involved, and the chances of not getting a 'foreign job', and balance it alongside the experience and exposure that a foreign univ gives.

Arun, what particular experiences have you had to make you feel this way?

Hey Arun,
I agree with many of the others, an LLM in NLS is really nothing great- I've interacted with some of them, and needless to say, I would'nt any legal advice from them . anyway, please give on details on the drawbacks on an LLM in UK, apart from the cost factor of course.
Sayaks and others , how do you plan to work in UK after the degree. For me coming back to India after an LLM in UK is not realy invitng. what do you guys plan to do?

The so called LLM, any where in this whole world is a fund raising course. So it actually depends to which countries exchequire do u want to puor in money.
If not academically inclined donot venture into this quagmire...
It's not where u have done ur masters form but what u hv in ur head out there that counts the most. I hv met many of them who have completeted their masters from the best universities from U.K, They are pathetically poor in their basics. I hv even met a few who have reached there by scholorships and academic endowments who r indeed extremely brilliant.
Brilliance is a factor within u can't buy it out in U.K or else where..............
Well for all the persuers a Big Best of Luck........
