hi,everyone!
I have receive the three universities' offer in LLM~
Durham-international trade and commercial law
SOAS and Edinburgh-both about international law
I heard Durham has a higher score in RAE~But someone told me that some professors are leaving....
Maybe SOAS is good at the research about Asia and Africa...
I can't make a decision which university is better.
Help me,please~~~~~

I always say Edinburgh, but I'm an employee here, so unless I can back up my preference over and above my own enthusiasm for this institution, and over the great things I hear on a daily basis about how well our students get on during their time on-campus, on-line and afterwards in their employment prospects, I'd not expect you to take my preference in to account.

There is a new RAE exercise round the corner, and it's quite common for academic staff to move at this time, there's a lot of motivation for institutions to hire new staff with a strong research background.

For the most recent RAE (2001) ratings I found the following:

Durham:
In the latest Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2001, Durham was rated 11th across all subjects. 20 out of 33 departments - accounting for 85% of staff - were awarded grades 5 and 5* and therefore of world class standing. Six of Durham's units of assessment (Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, English, Geography, History and Law) achieved the top grade of 5*.

Edinburgh:
Nine Edinburgh Departments were rated 5* - the highest accolade denoting international excellence in all areas of activity - placing the University 5th in the UK for 5* ratings (after Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College and University College London) An additional 19 departments at the University of Edinburgh were rated 5 [including Law] for their research. This represents a substantial volume of staff - 75% of the staff in 5 and 5* Departments.

SAOS
"36 Law 5" (I didn't find much more).
