I want to get an LLM via distance learning.
I have a German university law degree and have recently decided to become a legal translator. I think having an LLM would be good for this line of work - it is a VERY competitive market for translators out there and you need everything to distinguish yourself.
The problem is that the majority of translation work is stuff like contracts, and there is only a single distance learning LLM available offering a course on contract law - Northumbria.
Northumbria however isn't too far up in the rankings, and I was wondering what kind of respect such an LLM will get from law firms and legal departments.
Is it worthless? Nice, but no cigar? Pretty good?
