How strict are UK universities such as KCL/LSE when it comes to conditional offer requirements? Is there a chance of being accepted if you marginally miss the requirements of your offer?

It would be great if someone who has been accepted even after failing to meet conditions or have had their conditions waived would respond to this thread.
