City Law School is delighted to announce that the major US law firm O'Melveny & Myers will be offering a three month paid internship in its Brussels office from May to September 2008.

The full details of the internship are set out in the press release below. Currently we have 6 internships available for LLM students starting this September and we currently in negotiation with several firms, hence we hope to significantly increase that number during the course of the academic year.

Learn Antitrust Practice at the highest level in Brussels - and develop a deep knowledge of Antitrust Law - in the same year.

OMM are offering a Scholarship of £5000 to go with the Internship.

Major International Law Firm OMelveny & Myers is offering a three month Antitrust Internship in its Brussels office for an LLM student specialising in Antitrust Law at The City Law School in academic year 2007-08. This is a major opportunity for students interested in a career in international antitrust law to experience that practice at the highest level. The Brussels office of OMM deals with the full range of antitrust issues from Mergers and Acquisitions, through regulatory issues to price-fixing cartel cases for a wide range of blue chip corporate clients from across the globe.

Students taking any antitrust course in the first term (these are likely to include General Competition, International Cartels and State and Competition courses will be eligible for the internship. The first round involves submission of the applicants first term coursework. The coursework is assessed by the antitrust team in OMMs Brussels office and a shortlist of candidates will be drawn up for interview. Following interviews in January or February interviewed applicants will be informed of the result.

The internship will run from the beginning of May to the end of July. To support the student in Brussels during his/her internship, OMM will provide a scholarship to the value of £5000 (this will include both a Scholarship and Accommodation). The City Law School will provide an automatic extension of two months for completion of the LLM dissertation to the successful student.
