Does anyone know whether Cambridge operates with a waiting list? It is taking unbelievably long to hear from them... Has anybody gotten some news the last few days?

I have been waiting to hear from them as well... but there is no news. Which are the other colleges that you have applied to ? Have you been accepted at any others ?

I got in on Friday. Another friend heard a week earlier. Another friend hasn't heard anything yet and yet another friend heard on the same day as me.
I wouldn't worry.

I was told by telephone on Thursday that I was offered a place, yet I haven't received any e-mail from them so far. It happens because they first make a decision at the Law Faculty and then send the decision to the BGS which is responsible for notifying (unlike Oxford, where the Law Faculty notifies you itself). Hence the immense delays. You'd better call the Law Faculty and find out about the status of your application yourself.

Thanks very much... and Congratulations on getting through Oxford as well... So where are you finally going to go ?

Thanks! Congrats on Oxford! I am sure with ur credentials (being shortlisted for Shell is smth!) you'll be accepted by Cam as well!
I am leaning towards Ox bacause:
1) I have a substantial scholarship at Ox and Cam Trusts said the decisions on Cam scholarships will be made in June at the earliest!
2) Ox, unlike cam, has a tutorial system, which, according to an MJur student from my country is really helpful

Priya, where did you hear that Ox has a tutorial system for BCL/MJur students?
I thought that was only for undergraduates.

In the UK, I applied to and got accepted by LSE.

Hi Joesph,
The comment about the tutorial system was written by Zelda.... not me !

Hey Joseph1,
Was my post about tutorials, not Priya's :)
It is written on Ox's Law Faculty web-site + I have spoken to a MJur candidate from my country who described the system at length. Last year she was accepted by both Cam and Ox, chose Ox and has not regretted it. She says the tutorials are very motivating and helpful, esp. for smn not very familiar with the Anglo-Saxon educational system.

OK, yeah. I just looked and you are right.
Unlike undergrads, the tutorials are only for a few weeks of the year in the BCL but that is a huge advantage, I agree.
Let's just hope I get a good college now!

Even if you don't get ur 1st choice, it won't really matter from the academic point of view since we'll be all having classes together at the Law Faculty, and it is possible to have tutorials with a tutor from another college.
But it would be nice to get to Balliol because the graduate accomodation is just across the road from the Law Faculty. StCatz is close to the Law Faculty building as well.

St Catz proximity to the Faculty of Law was one of my main considerations.....

Hi Zelda, just wondering how many schools you applied to. You seem to be on almost every board. I'm totally impressed; it must have taken a lot of effort (and chocolate boxes) to get so many reference letters done! Best wishes. J
