Dear All,
I'm Khushi, from India and have been offered a place at Queens' College, Cambridge.
I have been made a conditional offer wherein I am required to send a Financial Undertaking Form by July 31st stating that I will be in a position to finance my course of study in Cambridge.
However, if we send the financial undertaking form before the decisions are made in relation to the Cambridge Trust, one ends up declaring that he is able to pay, whereas, in reality, it is only with the aid of borrowed funds.
It would be of great help if people who had conditions similar to mine could help me out on what they have done because I will only be able to finance the study by taking a loan. Did you indicate in a separate letter that the same was with the help of borrowed funds?
Also, there is mention of a Financial Guarantee Form and a link as well on the self-service page. But I am unable to locate the form? Is this a problem which everyone is facing? Could someone who has managed to locate the form send me a link to the same?
Thanks a lot.
Best,
Khushi

I can only answer in response to the Financial Guarantee Form - yes, the link is stuffed. I found a copy of last year's one on the website, but not this year's one.
I plan on using the hard copy form at the back of the "An Explanation of Your Offer and Its Conditions" booklet that was sent to you with my offer letter (after I get my hard copy official bursary letter).

There is no Guarantee form for this year, only an Undertaking form. The reference to Guarantee form is out of date and probably should have been removed

My plan is to take US gov't loans, private loans, private scholarships, and family support. I asked Ms. Wade what option I should choose and was told to select option "A" which was self-financing my education. I believe the other two sections are for scholarships and Cambridge Trusts only, but not 100% positive. Good luck!

I had to sign (well, someone else had to sign) the guarantee form... I didn't know it wasn't necessary

Has anyone received a final offer letter from the University? I need it to apply for a student visa, as I assume a lot of you do. The British visa website says the final offer letter needs to include the name of the course, hours of study, duration and cost of the course.
I have satisfied the other conditions if it helps.
Also re the financial form, I think a lot of the Trusts decisions are already being announced (see other thread on this) and it would seem some people are getting them despite already providing the guarantee. I don't think it would prejudice your chances, I think they would assume that even if you could pay for it yourself and go into debt that you wouldn't choose to!

yes, i have, actually a month ago. the fastest way of getting the final offer letter is via camsis. it's available there as soon as you have met all conditions (i think in my case it was about 3 days after I had sent all the necessary stuff to them)

Thanks DC. I am able to access that certificate on Camsis too, but they say that some visa agencies won't accept it and we'll need to wait for the physical letter. Have you received that one too or just the camsis one?

I have received the physical letter too, I guess a week or two after it was online

I still haven't had a college offer, so I can't send off my undertaking yet... Any ideas?

I am in the same situation now, still waiting for the college membership. And I have sent my forms out leaving the college section blank. But I am not sure if it is acceptable as it says on the form that the cheque will be sent to the college directly. How confusing!

Finding the financial undertaking form is confusing, but I got there in the end. When you open up your camsis home page, scroll right down to the bottom.
Click on the link that says "Financial undertaking form-new version will be available shortly".
This'll open up a a new page with PDF links "explanation of your offer and it's conditions". This is the same booklet you would've received when you got your offer.
Just open it (the 2008-2009 link), go to page 26, et voila!
Well, that's what I did anyway, and I don't think there's been any problems...except that the BGS hasn't updated my financial undertaking condition on camsis, but I've been assured that it's not my problem.
Hope it helps guys. I've been a fly-on-the-wall on these posts long enough.
