Cambridge Application Submitted!!! & The Myterious Pegasus Scholarship

Hey guys!!!

I sent off my application and supporting docs ( transcript, references, etc) to Cambridge a few weeks ago! I applied for the LL.M...the deadline is the 14th..today..and I am soo anxious. Does any one know how soon I can expect a response from the school about whether I got in??

Also, I saw details on the Inner Temple website about a Pegasus Scholarship for Incoming Scholars, ie students from outside the UK who wish to study in UK and get a chance to do a stint with a Magic Circle Firm like Clifford Chance..so great!! I signed up...but the application form is not very generic..and seems wholly tailored to students who studied in the UK!!!!  Am I the only one having this problem?? Is this scholarship really for persons from other countries, or have I been focusing on the wrong form entirely...help!

It was my understanding that the admissions board would be meeting today to consider applications--at least those for the PhD program. However, we may not know the results of that meeting for a month or more (don't ask me why).

The deadline for home LLM students online is 17th (Monday) while on paper it is December 1st 2008 so I'm slightly confused as to this 14th reference. Granted though, you're not a home student!

Notably though, responses wont be out until March time 2009! What a long wait!

I assume that although the deadline is in December, they will consider those applications they have received before then. I coordinated via email with one of the support staff at Cambridge, and she told me that there was a faculty meeting today in which they would consider my application. The difference may be that I'm a PhD applicant, or that I requested that my application decision be expedited. She also told me that I could expect to hear in about a month, but again I'm in the dark on the why of that timetable.

Sorry, your first post refers to applying for the LL.M so I was refering to the LL.M timetable. With PhDs I imagine the process is different, not least because they wont receive as many applications. Best of luck though!!

My apologies for the ambiguity in my earlier post. Good luck to you as well.

Oh..well I am an overseas student and I applied online. The deadline for applications made online was the 14th of November..or 2 weeks before the deadline for paper applications. In any case I hope to get my application expedited as well..if for nothing else, because I took the effort to send my application in early ( as they had advised) God May!!! Don't know if I can wait....
