Hello everyone,
I have been fortunate enough to be admitted to all of the above mentioned universities doing a part-time LLM in Corporate/Financial Law.
I was wondering what are your views in terms of the career network and support provided by these outstanding institutions to graduate students.
What I have gathered from my research is that King's College has probably the best career support to graduates amongst these unis. As a graduate, you can join their law society and benefit from their links and all around activities. Moreover, the King's Career Network in Law page that I have been following online always offers some career-building opportunities (open days, application surgeries etc)
Then there is UCL. It is probably my first choice for doing an LLM because it is highly ranked (closest thing to Oxbridge), the academic staff are very reputable and it offers a huge variety of interesting courses. However, I could not find much in terms of the career support offered to graduates. I know that you cannot join their law society because that is open to undergrads only. There is a graduate law society but my modest research suggests that they don't have the same links and opportunities as the undergraduates.
LSE - could not really find much about their career events or law society which almost serves to rebut my presumption that the career support for graduates there will be great.
I don't want to pay 12,000+ pounds for just studying an LLM. I think I would rather go to a lower ranked uni (King's) but get the same career support/opportunities as an undergraduate would get rather than go to a place where I won't be offered much.
Would appreciate your opinions/views/recommendations
