Hey guys,
Two years ago I'd wanted to go straight into an LLM programme with UCL being pretty much my only choice because I loved the idea of their specialized LLM in Criminal Justice, Family and Social Welfare. I was advised by many persons in my life that at 21 I would have been too young and that I should have gone to law school and into practice for a while.
My main interest lies in academia although at some point in time I admit I would like to Prosecute. Many persons warned me that because of my age my interests were sure to change. Two years on, they haven't. I'm still very interested in human rights and public law as well as gender related issues and the challenges facing the criminal justice system and so far UCLs degree has best suited my needs.
My main problem is that I'm worried that I might not get in. I've graduated with First Class Honours but I have no work experience nor did I moot or anything like that. I'm very worried that on paper I won't stand out as among the other persons applying. With that in mind I contemplated applying to other Universities but then I'm not sure if considering how strongly I feel about this particular LLM that my best course of action upon rejection would not be working for a few years and then applying again.
I know all about their rolling system so I'm trying to get in my application as soon possible (my LLB transcript is holding me up) but do you think it is a silly idea to apply only to UCL?

There is nothing to be worried about. It doesn't matter whether you have done mooting or not. I have seen people get through without it.
I graduated in 2011 and I am also applying to UCL (2013 intake) but for International Commercial Law and hope to submit my application by the end of this week.
Best of Luck :)

Hey thanks 'ontherocks2732'. I'm hoping to be able to submit my application in the next two weeks. I'm just waiting on one of my references at the moment.
Good luck to you as well. Keep me posted!

Have either of you heard back..? I'm applying to just the straight LLM programme and submitted on December 10th (so a little after both of you!).
I got a first in my penultimate year of udnergrad studies, however, I just missed out on a 2.1 during my first year.
Any thoughts?
