Hello,
I'm heading to UCL in September to read for the LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law.
Since I'm from a EU-country (Belgium) it's unlikely that UCL will offer me accomodation. So I'll probably have to look for private accomodation. How about you?

This is what someone at the Student Residence Office replied when I asked about accomodation:
"Hello, it is true that we dont house EU students before the start of term. However if we do have any spare rooms, we do try to give rooms to UK and EU graduate students. I do think it is still worth your while to submit your application as well as look at private accommodation. In terms of private accommodation, I will give you information below."
I have applied for UCL accomodation and I should receive a response by 8 September. But considering the e-mail from the Student Residence Office it is probably unlikely that they will offer me a place...

I read the acco brochure and it says that they prioritize students who live overseas and who have not previously studied or lived in London (within the M25). So provided you make your application by June 30 you're pretty much sure of getting acco. But ya would help to keep a back-up. Wonder how Ronin got it though. When do you plan to reach?

I am a CURRENT student. Sorry to have misled you.
When I applied last year for accomodation, it was even after May (in June), and I got a very good room. This is why EU students should remain optimistic.
Koen: I do not really understand the answer of the Accomaodation Office.

What are you studying at UCL? U told me you are from France, where would you like to work once back? France or UK law firms?
I'm a little bit discourage about the italian recruiting system, that is similar to the italian football system (raccomandations)...Have you heard about the big italian scandal in soccer?
Ciao Vincent e grazie

hi all
I will also be heading to ucl. I will focus on intellectual property, media law and south east asian law (if available). I'm malaysian, in my final year of my LLB degree at durham university currently.
As for accomodation, John Dodgson House looks nice, if a little pricey. Will probably have to find a part time job...
Does anyone have any insight as to which halls are good value? All i have for reference is a little handbook from ucl.

I'm planning to go to London the first or second week of September. It will depend on the fact if I still have to look for accomodation when I arrive in London or not.
@Ronin: When did UCL make you an offer for accomodation? Did you have to wait till September?

Hi everyone! I come from Taiwan and have received the conditional offer to enter LLM this year. Therefore, I will take pre-sessional course this summer. The Language Centre has given me an accommodation offer during pre-sessional course. However, the student residence office has told me the result of accommodation during LLM course will be given until August. That is what I got.
Hope see you guys in this summer!

Did anyone bother to write an essay for the GBP2,000 scholarships offered by the faculty of laws (bentham, chief justice scholarships, etc.)?
When will the results come out?
