hi anshuman
seeking your advice regarding this course
I am a sailing second officer having done a regular Bsc Nautical Sc in 2005. I wish to do my further studies here at swansea at faculty of law or I am also looking at NUS course graduate diploma in maritime law and arbitration
what woud you suggest and also any ideas about job prospects after these courses. How difficult is getting a work permit or employment pass after getting the degree and onward employment opportunities???
What kind of package shall i be expecting after the course
thanks in anticipation

Hi Mr. Chadha,
To begin at the begining....I am a sailing master and as I have no more ladders to climb I chose to take a shore job. To add value and also due to interest I preferred to chose LLM from Swansea. They have at present the largest active research faculty. I too an keenly interested in arbitration and claims and after completion would hope to join either Llyods or P&I.
To practise law as a solicitor we need additional studies - a one year practitioners course. So am hoping to take up arbitration. Future prospects as of now are still unclear but at the worst I have added value to my professional resume.
I am being told that the job market in the UK is limited but that is not a bother as most shipping companies now have a law division so the options are unlimited. Plus if we are good at our job I don't see a smart firm settling for mediocre.
At the end I would like to say - it is a leap of faith and I recommend you too should jump.
Till then clear skies and calm seas.
Regards
