Hello everybody,
I ve been accepted to UCL and am planning about my accomodation in London.
I m from Italy and won't have priority as to the accomodation in a dormitory.
Thus, I wanted to know if there is someone else in the same situation...in order to organize together or exchanging advices...
Thakns!
Ciao!!!

Hi Sergio,
congratulations! When did you apply to UCL? I did begining of feb, and still no news. However, accepted at KCL. As for the accomodation, I share your view- not exactly excited about dormitory.

Hi sergio i got also accepted by UCL and Im very excited to go there!
I already filled the accommodation reply form and sent it on February.
However i still dont know what your question exactly is, if you say you have no specific preferences.

Pucca, can you tell me how long it took from submitting the application to UCL until the decision? Thanks

Hi Majda03, I applied in January and redceived reply the last week...(I ve been accepted by KCL as well, but I prefer UCL)
Pucca, as to the accomodation, since I m from EU, I m not entitled to have an accomodation in UCL dormitories...I would have also gone to a dorm, but don t have choise...so, I ll have to look for something privately and an idea could be to find someone else to look for an apartment together...
Anyways, I m excited to go there, too...I m sure it ll be a great experience...

wel i applied on October and they acknowledge receipt of my application in November 10, 2008. Then I received the offer letter in mid December. But I think it took less time because I applied quite early,,now they have more applications so it might take almost 2 months for a response.
Good luck Majda :)

hey guys, I just received a Hard-Copy of the letter through Normal Mail from UCL stating that they received my application on 6th March and that I should expect a reply by 6th May 2009...! does this mean that I will receive a hard copy of their response by 6th May or does it mean that they will reach a decision on 6th May and then send me the Normal Mail...!!
Also, Any idea whether they stick to the dates or sometimes they get delayed or they respond early...??
I don' like the normal mailing systems....emails are much quicker....This letter itself was dated as 18th March and I reached my residence today (8th April)...so if they post my Response on 6th May ...i will receive it on apprx. 26th May....thats way too long....!! I wanna confirm my admissions at UCL as soon as possible and pay the fees and close the chapter...

They told me that I would have received their reply by 31 march, I received it like on 25 or 26...so they were not late...anyway, I donno how they usually do...
However, I agree, i don t like mail as well, I prefer email...but this is it...
So?...is there anybody else accepted by UCL???

Sergio - what is your housing budget like? If money not a big concern (i.e. probably touching £200 pw), look into UNITE halls, at either Russell Square or Kings Cross. If money more of a concern, the Oakshott Court housing estate near Euston Station is popular with studes and pretty safe. Lastly, get in touch with UCL, see if they can give you the password for the University of London Housing List (once you accept their offer, this should not be problem, I would have thought) - loads of properties pre-vetted by the University of London to suit all budgets.

Hi all My name is Vindya (female) from Sri Lanka. I ve also been accepted to UCL this year for an LLM. Am trying to sort out my funding and provided that I do, in the meantime am on the lookout for roommates to share a private flat? cos i think UCL accommodation is expensive. Anyone interested?
I am not familiar with the London area so I dont even know where to start. Any advice?
thx

I received today a letter from UCL stating that they received my accommodation application on March 16, 2009 and that I should receive an answer around September 7, 2009.
Therefore I dont understand why some people here said they should receive a reply sooner,,,are u talking about accomodation reply or something else because i got confused sorry!
By the way I also received today my unconditional offer letter from UCl. They first have a conditional letter because they wanted me to enclose another document they need and I did it right away so now i hold the unconditional offer, thanks God!!!
Good luck to everybody! Looking forward to meet you all at UCL :)

Hi All,
I am from India and had received my conditional offer a month back after which i had sent them my confirmation.
Now do any of you have an idea if the admissions office confirms the receipt of my confirmation in response to my E mail or Phone call?

Hi Shravi, do not worry they will send u a confirmation letter by a snail mail. In my case, It took almost a month to get that letter from the date they received my acceptance form.

Bliss,
Thank you very much for the reply. But i was asking if UCL would respond to our mails or Phone calls in order to confirm the receipt of my confirmation as there could have been a little problem pertaining to the date on which it would have been received by them.

Yes they will answer your emails or phone calls. In my case Tracy smith at the admissions office has helped me a lot and respond to all my emails. but be patient because many many people are writing emails and calling them these days.
