About Grades Convalidation criteria for International Students

So, I was trying to find out what's the convertion or "convalidation" criteria they use in the UK for Universities above the world. Particularly in my case for South America. And... i have to ask, is there any kind of discrimination because of the quality of the Universities? I have an average degree of 8,5/10 from a State University of Bolivia -top 3 from 987-, and believe me, is hard to get that grade in conditions like those. I was wondering if a have any chance of gettin' an LLM oportunity in the UK. What's your opinion about this, and wich Law School I should be interested in with those grades??

Hi Oxbridge guy. Your username already shows that youve got confidence and thats the spirit. Im from South America too (Brazil). I also graduate from a top university here and my marks were actually a little below yours (7.5 out of 10). You definitely have chances of getting into some great schools in the UK and if I were you Id apply to every university you see fit (Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, KCL, QM and many others) in fact, thats exactly what Ive done and its paid off all right

I agree with beicon. I am from Brazil (obviously by the the username :-)) and also graduated with 8.5 out of 10. I got a place at LSE, so it is possible to get into a good LLM.
Good luck!

I'm not sure. But I think my work experience was considered. I have been working with international law for the last 6 years and I think this was the most important thing in my CV.
But I think you should give a try, as beicon said before.
