I have a choice to pass both TOEFL PBT and IBT. How do you think which one is preferable for universities?

ibt, by far : most of universities ask for IBT scores (which are different from pbt).

Moreover, you'll have your scores faster ;)

I agree. In the US, IBT is more popular. In the UK, IELTS seems to be perferred by universities.
