I am about to apply for the LLM in Cambridge for the entry in 2008. I have allready taken the TOEFL test, but it says in the webpages of the University of Cambridge that the TOEFL is only accepted if the IELTS is not available. I come from Norway, where the IELTS is available.
Does this mean that I have to take the IELTS as well, even though I scored quite good on the TOEFL (653 and 5,5 on the TWE)?
Does anyone have any experience with this?
I look forward to a reply on this matter.
Qute from the Cambridge website:
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the university's preferred test. Where the IELTS test is not available you may take the Princeton TOEFL test (Test of English as a Foreign Language). If you do this, you must take the Test of Written English (TWE) at the same time.
TOEFL instead of IELTS

Unfortunately, it is true. Cambridge and some other british universities do not accept Toefl as an Academic English test. It is so easy in a comparison with IELTS. So, if you want an advice, I would say: Go for IELTS as soon as you can!!
Cheers,

I have the same problem going on. I have been conferred a cond. offer for Cambridge and, despite the fact of having undertaken the TOEFL a few months ago, since I am currently based in Rome, I'm obliged to sit the IELTS for which I've paid almost 200 euros. You are not alone!
