hi, as a lawyer im thinking about getting into m&a which i find interesting but i see more job opportunities in tax law.

i dont want to end up studying tax law and regret if i shouldve get into m&a and do what i really like, but im scared that the opportunities would be not available.

Does the firm you work in have an M&A practice? If so you could check to see what the best route to getting in would be.

Typically an LLM is a good way to specialize but very few schools offer specific LLMs in this area. Instead you might look for a good LLM in business law / company law or even one in finance law.

As for M&A vs. tax law, this will depend on what your goals are specifically, and what opportunities are available in your country. I suggest starting at the firm you work in, as well as other firms to see where the opportunities are.
