Hello!

I would like to ask you, whats the difference between two similar programmes, according to the job market perspective: the LLM in Finance and Law and the MSc in Finance and Law. My question is what kind of jobs would I get with those degrees?

I am definitely interested in combining academically finance and law, but I am not sure which one of the degrees is more suitable for me. I am a Colombian lawyer, who has previous experience in the local Financial Law, especially in securities market law. I have a qualification in Economics as well, but I havent got the opportunity to get professional experience in Economics or even Finance.

My first choice was the LLM, because of my previous professional experience and because thats what lawyers usually do, but I want to try some international oriented degree, in order to get the chance to work for an international company. As I am not European, or American, I think I wouldnt be allowed to practice law there or anywhere else just with a LLM degree. I am afraid that law is very local, and a LLM degree would broaden my job opportunities here, in Colombia, but not abroad.

For the MSc I am considering, I will need to do the GMAT, so I assume is more economic and financial oriented, so maybe the chances to get a job abroad would be more realistic. But without previous experience in that particular field, what do you think about it?

I would appreciate your advices....
