Hello, I have two LL.M. One from Europe and the other from the US Ivy League School.
My major is international law, but I know a little bit of economics.
After those LL.M.s, I came back to my home country and started Ph.D in Law, but the professor just threw me away. It was a waste of time and money.
I start Ph.D in Economics in my home country this fall semester 2017.
The reason I try Ph.D is that Ph.D is the requirement to be a professor. I would like to become a professor in South Asian countries, such as Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, or Thailand, either in Law or in Economics.
I checked those universities, and most of them looked like the US Ph.D in Economics or US JSD.
Because my transcript in LL.M. is not good, I cannot apply for JSD. Previously, I applied Ph.D in Economics but I failed.
I am 34 years old now. I am quite desperate.
How can I develop my future career to be a professor in universities in the South Asian countries? Is it positive if I start Ph.D in Economics in my home country and complete it?
I have two LL.M.s but no job.
