Hi
if anyone could give me some advice i would be very grateful!
I am about to graduate in phylosophy in italy (3 years degree) and i am asking for a scholarship: i want to take a LLM in international law or HUman rights law, couse i want to work in the international organizations.
FIrst question: where do i apply? (remember, i don't have a LLB so i might have few chances in many unis).
Second question: i am taking a year off, i thought of volunteering to get some "field" experience, Brasil is my choise. Do you think there is any interships i could "start with" (since i am not from the law area?)
Thank you so much,
maria

Hi Maria,
well Im not an expert in human rights anyway as you dont have a law degree you cannot apply to a US law school. The basic requirement is to have a law degree from a law school of your home country.
However, there are some programs that though they cover international human right they are labelled as M.A(Master of Art) so I guess they dont require you to have a law degree. In addition, MA degree focus more on the phylosophical and political features of the subject so will be more interesting for you.
In UK, unlike US, you can apply to an LL.M program even you dont have a law degree but obviously they prefer law candidates, though Human Right is bit peculiar I guess for its political nature.
Anyway, check LSE, Durham, UCL, City University London and Oxford.
If you may need further help mail me Im italian too!!
I hope it helps. Good luck
