Hi there,
I think ur problem is not different from many others. as you said you are in 2nd year, the subjects will be mainly pre-law subjects (if iam not wrong). so dont worry abt it, and usually few law subjects are quite dry in nature. regarding the interest its upto you how to tackle. but i would suggest you to know your interest in law i;e civil, criminal or corporate law etc, and also thinkover as to what you want to be after completing your graduation. according to that join any corporate firm or an advocate office either civil or criminal, by this it will definitely enhance your practical knowledge and will also build your interest. all the best!

Hi,
I think you have to first sort the of your future plans. As your parents have suggested for civil services, no doubt its a respected position in our society. but think more than just writing the exams and clearing it, you should have the desire to do it, biz its different from all other profession. you need to work very damm hard. never the less its not impossible. and as per your liking, you will have a bright future. but what i suggest at this point of time is, dont jump to any conclusion. take your time, analyse things. and you can do one more think, as i said you get an internship in any good corporate firm, undergo training and you will have a good idea about the nature of work involved. and then you decide as to what to select, and also if poss speak to anyone who has done with their UPSC exams or who is preparing. may be by this your problem may be sorted out. this has worked for me, tryout urself. all the best!
