I am applying for DPhil in Law at Oxford. It would be really helpful if any past successful candidate could give tips on research proposals.

Also, would it be a good idea to apply for both MPhil and DPhil at the same time? Will this increase my chances of getting selected or rather pose a detriment towards my selection?
