THIS IS NOT A MASTER OF LAW program - it is a "certificate of LL.M"

The so-called "LLM International Business Law" at ULB is not a Master of Law program.

You receive a "certificate of LL.M" and not a Master of Law.

Are you absolutely sure about that? Have you been in this program before and obtained this information from management? I will be glad if you answer.

oh thank you so much for letting me know about this. I really wanted a master's degree in Ulb but this information made me question my decision. Accordingly, at the end of this program, will it be impossible to pursue an academic career in our own country?

Academic Status of the LL.M. Program: The LL.M. of International Business Law of the University of Brussels (ULB) is a 60 credit (ECTS) academic program that is officially recognized under relevant Belgian laws. There are 3 main kinds of law studies (other than bachelors) that are taught at university level in Belgium:- The 120 credit Master in Law, in French or Dutch, taught at undergraduate level, giving access to the Belgian bar. - The 60 credit Specialization Masters, in French or Dutch, for specialization in very specific areas that give access to a protected legal profession in Belgium (civil notaries) or specific subjects listed in the relevant laws. - The other 60 credit postgraduate university programs, in English, French or Dutch, to study other areas of law in more depth, which are approved by the Belgian state. The programs are generally called LL.M. as per the international practice (“Master of Laws”). Our LL.M. falls under this category, as do all officially approved 60 credits LL.Ms of Belgian universities that are not a Specialization Master.

I recommend everyone considering studying at ULB to think twice before buying a "certificate" for almost 6k. Pretty sure there are better deals (& a real Master of Law) out there!

Indeed, check before applying. LLM in Business Law at ULB is NOT a degree. It is a CERTIFICATE (continuous eduction, not a master)
It does not mean it is bad. The content of the program is ok, but the status of the program could be not acceptable for some

Be careful. You might have problems in pursuing academic career after, as doctorates require master degree. This is not a master degree
